UMD & the H1N1 FLU

  • The past several months, UMD leaders have been meeting regularly with representatives from the St. Louis County Health Department and the Minnesota Department of Health to develop a comprehensive pandemic flu response plan. (UMD's reponse plan can be viewed at both of the following links: http://www.d.umn.edu/emergency and http://www.d.umn.edu (click on Emergency Preparedness). A letter was recently sent to the UMD campus community and all parents on the UMD parents listserv from John King, Pandemic Flu Response Team Chair. UMD recommends that all students be prepared for H1N1 by bringing to school:

    Several bottles of hand sanitizer

    Disinfectant spray or wipes such as Lysol

    Several boxes of tissue

    Ibuprofen or Tylenol

    A thermometer
