Bulldog Bash 2008

New student orientation to UMD will begin on Thursday, August 28 and continue through the first week of classes.

New freshman students are required to attend the Welcome Week events from August 28 - September 1, 2008. New transfer students are encouraged, but not required, to attend. Optional activities for all students continue September 2 - September 7.

What is Welcome Week & Bulldog Bash?

During Welcome Week & Bulldog Bash students will get an orientation to UMD's academic expectations, make social connections and become familiar with the campus, the city of Duluth and services offered to students at UMD. We will introduce students to many of the educational opportunities and possibilities that will unfold as they engage in their journeys and learning at UMD.

New freshman students will move-in on Thursday, August 28. There will be an optional program for parents during the afternoon of Friday, August 29 following the Chancellor's Convocation.

Throughout the long weekend, your students will be doing a number of great activities and participate in events to help them get to know people and find their way around UMD and Duluth. They will meet many students and staff and get familiar with the services and resources that will help them to make their time at UMD successful!

Please encourage your students to throw themselves into the Welcome Week & Bulldog Bash and get connected. It will help them to have a great start to their UMD career!

Construction Alert:

We all know that in Minnesota there are two seasons: winter and road construction. Check out the construction zones on the Minnesota Department of Transportation website prior to move-in weekend and be sure to plan your travel time accordingly.
